Alia Bhatt Signs Three-Film Deal with British Production House Working Title

Alia Bhatt Signs Three-Film Deal with British Production House Working Title

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has signed an exclusive three-film deal with Working Title Films, the British production house behind hits like 'Love Actually' and 'Bridget Jones's Diary'. The partnership marks the biggest international commitment by an Indian actress to date and signals Alia's serious push into global cinema following her Hollywood debut in 'Heart of Stone'.

Details of the Deal

The first film under the deal will be a romantic thriller set across London, Paris, and Mumbai, with production scheduled to begin in early 2027. The project will be directed by a yet-to-be-announced BAFTA-winning director and will feature Alia alongside an A-list British actor whose name is being kept under wraps.

Working Title co-chairman Tim Bevan praised Alia's range and global appeal, noting that the company has been looking to expand into the Indian diaspora market. The films will receive theatrical releases in both Western and Indian markets, with marketing budgets reflecting a truly global launch strategy.

"I've always believed stories don't have borders. Working with Working Title is a dream because they make films that touch hearts universally. I want to bring Indian sensibility to global storytelling," Alia said in a joint statement with the production house.

The deal comes at a time when several Indian actors are exploring international opportunities. Priyanka Chopra Jonas paved the way with her Hollywood career, but Alia's three-film deal represents a more structured and committed partnership. Industry observers note that the deal's value, reportedly around $30 million including profit participation, reflects the growing commercial viability of Indian stars in global markets.
